Reading with kids

1. Afternoon on the Amazon
Luke has started to blow through the Magic Tree House series - on good days he reads 2 books a day - and he calls me after every one to talk about it. Love that. This book is the 6th in the series and takes place in the Amazon. One of my fave books in the series so far.

2. Sunset of the Sabertooth
Number 7 in the Magic Tree House series takes Jack and Annie back into the Ice-Age. This was Luke's fave book this week.

3. Scaredy Squirrel Makes a Friend
Luke read this aloud to us - the kids love this series of books. In this installment SOS (Sacredy's initials) sets out to make a friend, and things do no go as planned. Lots of laughter and giggling.

4. Midnight on the Moon
Number 8 in the Magic Tree House series takes Jack and Annie into the future and onto the Moon! Love how these books gives kids background information on so many different topics.

5. Dolphins at Daybreak
Number 9 in the Magic Tree House series takes Jack and Annie underwater to a coral reef. Just when you think things will end badly the dolphins come to the rescue. Love how the book introduces the concept of doing research to find an answer to a puzzle.

Luke is getting to be a proficient reader and thinks these books are "awesome". After he calls to tell me that he is done with another book, he has "to go and read the next book to see what happens next." I've given the boys audio versions of several of the books and Jonah likes listening to them too. A happier Aunt I could not be.
