Azores Island Hopping | Faial

Lucked out with lovely weather for our final morning in #Horta. Even shy Pico shed her layers of clouds to grace us with her presence. Spent our final hours strolling again around #marinadahorta admiring the open air painting gallery. These are created by sailors who crossed the Atlantic, no small feat, and oh what tales they tell. #boats

National Siblings Day
It's National Siblings Days here in the States. I wonder who comes up with these holidays. Still, it gave me a reason to look through some old photo albums, and this one of all my sibs is from bygone days that feel like from a different lifetime.

CY 365 Update
If you are regular reader of this blog, you might be wondering if I've quit on the CY 365 project. Absotutely not. I'm no quitter. Derby Day
Yesterday the 141th running of the Kentucky Derby, and Derby Day calls for Man-O-Wars. Had to teach two local bartenders in Manchester, Vermont how to make them. Neither place had basil (don't get me started), so we made do with mint. Delish. P.S. Way to go American Pharoah! Cheers.

I've been wonderfully distracted by my sister who is in town for a month long visit, so have not been keeping up with my blog as often. In the meanwhile, I am posting regularly over on Instagram, so you can see what I'm up to there - including pics of what I'm currently reading.

Snow and more snow
Here in the Boston are we have had about 9 feet of snow in the past 3 weeks. Kinda crazy. And if that were not enough, we are also having record cold temperatures. Here are some pics from today.
Our driveway is getting narrower after each storm. Pretty soon we'll have to leave the cars behind and snowshoe out.
Another foot and a half of fresh powdery snow. Windchills in the -35F ahead, and the furnace has stopped working. Grateful that we have power. Life could be worse. There could be zombies at my door.

Movies for a snowday
We are in the midst of another winter storm here in the North East. Good thing I picked up some movies at the library before the snow started falling. Am always looking for something good to watch on the treadmill. Bring on another snowday or three!
