Robins are back...

I think the warm winter we've been having has faked everyone out. On our evening walk today, Susan and I saw at least 6 robins and 1 cardinal. There are no worms for the poor robins to eat. What will they do? Some of them have started chowing on the holly berries in our front yard.

Beautiful birds that herald spring.

Well. I think that the rendition of the robins was a little bit lame, considering there are hoards of real LIVE ones in the yard, looking for a little worm morsel. Lets see a little wildlife photography! Actually, the poor hungry buggers are chowing on the remains of the holly bushes. I wonder what they are doing up here so early in the season? Hurricanes, global warming, frequent flyer miles? In my youth, which reaslly wasn't so long ago, speaking in the larger context of the earth's periodic polarity reversal, robins used to show up on warm March days, when the ground was soft and crocus was poking up through the last dregs of crusty snow....
